There are many ways to make money using just your computer and an internet connection. The top 5 are: day trading stocks, forex exchange, Ebay selling, Affiliate Marketing, and Blogging.
Day trading stocks on the stock market. There are many popular online brokers to choose from that will, for a fee, facilitate the purchase and sale of stocks. A stock is a share of ownership in a business; your online broker will let you barter the value of company shares listed on various stock market exchanges like the NYSE and NASDAQ. Conventional wisdom maintains that stocks should be long term investments, echoed by American business guru Warren Buffet when he said, “Only buy something you'd be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.” However, some people have had had success taking advantage of short-term fluctuations in the market, a practice known as day trading.
Foreign currency exchange. The currency exchange market actually dwarfs the stock market in volume. Forex traders will use a quantity of a country's currency to purchase a quantity of a different country's currency. A quick Google search will yield many online real-time forex brokers that will carry out your currency transactions.
Ebay. The simplest way to make money online because you won't have to do any research. Sign up for a free seller's account on the world's number one auction site, take and upload photos of some things you have lying around, and list them in an open auction. Once you establish your reputation you can create an Ebay store and markup a profit on things that you can get wholesale locally. Advanced techniques include auto-listing and dropshipping.
Affiliate Marketing. Many companies will pay you cash if you refer customers to their website. Commonly a company will give unique URL's to their referrers. When accessed by another computer, the referrers unique URL will be marked and his/her account will be credited a set amount. Start by referring your family and friends, and then move on to pasting your URL to message boards, paid advertisements, and blog posts.
Blogging. Bloggers can make money by writing excellent content that provides information or insight on niche subjects. If the content is valuable enough, it will attract thousands of interested people. Popular advertisement applications like Google's AdSense will create revenue for you each time a reader clicks through an advertisement.
